Fire Engineering Reports (FERs) often cause confusion for practitioners who need to maintain or assess identified performance solutions.

Often assessors are confronted with a massive document that they have to wade through to identify what they need to do to confirm performance.

These reports are a regular cause of query and debate, and can potentially lead to misunderstandings.

In this seminar, building surveyor and fire safety assessor, Alex Hoyle will discuss some of the issues with these reports and share some ideas on how best to address them.

This seminar will be particularly useful for fire safety assessors and building surveyors.

Alex Hoyle

Alex Hoyle has been a fire protection consultant for the last 23 years, working in annual certification throughout Australia, predominantly in New South Wales.

A qualified mechanical engineer, building surveyor, and accredited Fire Safety Assessor (FSA) under the Fire Protection Accreditation Scheme (FPAS), he serves on two FPA Australia industry reference groups and is the Chair of the FSA Accreditation Reference Group.

Alex and his company work across all types and classifications of buildings, but he specializes in retail and commercial buildings, with clients including Westfield, Mirvac, NSW Health, CBRE, Frasers Property, Coles, and many others.

With the introduction of accreditation in NSW, he now focuses largely on AFSS and essential services, and deals with a lot of Fire Engineering Reports.
