Application of WA Planning Commission Position Statement on Tourism land uses in bushfire prone areas
The Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) and FPA Australia have worked together to bring the next CPD event on the changes to WA bushfire planning.
This one day event is designed specifically to review WA Tourism Position Statement, as well as to provide an introduction to the risk assessment, emergency planning and contingency framework.
WA Tourism Position Statement is developed by the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage to provide guidance for tourism land uses within bushfire prone areas. It recognises the need to facilitate appropriate tourism opportunities across WA whilst ensuring protection of human life in bushfire prone areas.
The key focus of this one day event is on applying the policy in practice and expectations on design for tourism developments.
This seminar will be delivered by Dr Grahame Douglas, who undertook a peer review of the draft position statement and presented his findings to the WAPC.
