What are they? How do they operate? What performance needs to be tested for endorsement? Design, Install, Commission, Test and Inspect - What you should know!

The pressurisation of required fire-isolated stairways, ramps or passageways forms part of a buildings’ smoke hazard management system. These systems are, or form part of, a life safety measure that is mandatory for many buildings. They form part of buildings’ mechanical services to control the effects of fire and smoke within a building.

These systems assist with minimising an occupant’s exposure to the effects of a fire while they are evacuating the building. Therefore, it is essential that these pressurisation systems operate and perform correctly, when required, to minimise the impact of fire and smoke to occupants while evacuating the building.

This webinar is aimed at improving your understanding of the key operational and performance requirements/criteria of these pressurisation systems.

If you design, install, certify, routinely service or assess the operation and performance of pressurisation of required fire-isolated stairways, ramps or passageways, you will find this webinar very informative.

This webinar will cover and explain:

  • The purpose of pressurisation systems for required fire-isolated stairways, ramps or passageways
  • How they operate
  • Key operation and performance design, commissioning, inspecting and testing requirements
  • Interfaces with other fire protection and life safety measures
  • Interaction with other smoke control systems
  • Common system configurations and system equipment
  • Inspection and testing requirements
  • Labelling, Baseline Data and Commissioning records
  • Do and Don’ts
  • Common misconceptions and misunderstandings
