When the Tasmanian Fire Service (TasFire) undertakes inspections of buildings it often finds significant fire safety problems.

These issues have raised concerns about occupant safety, so FPA Australia is running an event with TasFire to examine the most common concerns and to discuss the most appropriate ways to avoid them.

In this forum, Esther Fletcher-Jones, Acting Manager of the Building Safety Unit, will identify the ten most common defects found by TasFire.

Moderated by Paul Gleeson (Contact Group), a panel comprising Anthony Lada (Chubb Fire and Security), David Irving (Contact Electrical), Ross Murphy (Castellan Consulting), and Daniel Greig (TasFire) will then discuss some of the ways these problems can be prevented or fixed.

The speakers will also discuss how practitioners can meet the requirements of a TFS inspection and comply with the Chief Officer's Occupancy Report (COOR) and the Code of Practice Guidelines.
